Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and ReelNotes Ltd (“ReelNotes”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the ReelNotes service. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who can use ReelNotes

You must be at least 16 years old to use ReelNotes. By using it you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you give us is accurate.

2. The service

ReelNotes lets you save short-form videos (such as Instagram reels) and converts them into structured notes (transcripts, summaries, categories and related output) which you can search and organise into channels. The service is under active development; features and limits may change.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@reel-notes.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. Your content and the rights you grant

You keep ownership of the content you save and the notes generated from it. To run the service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content back to you, and to send the necessary text to our processing providers (see the Privacy Policy).

You are responsible for the content you save. You confirm that you have the right to save and process it, and that doing so does not break the law or anyone else’s rights.

5. Instagram and other third-party platforms

Where you connect your Instagram account, you authorise ReelNotes to use your session to fetch the reels you choose to save, acting on your instruction, as a tool you control.

  • ReelNotes is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, Meta, or any other platform.
  • You are responsible for complying with the terms of any platform whose content you save, including Instagram’s terms of use. You should not use ReelNotes to save content where doing so would breach those terms or anyone’s rights.
  • Third-party platforms may change how they work at any time, which can affect whether content can be saved. We don’t control that and can’t guarantee continued compatibility.

6. AI-generated output: no reliance

The notes, summaries and categories ReelNotes produces are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. They are provided for your convenience only and are not professional advice (including financial, medical, legal or other advice). Always verify before relying on anything ReelNotes generates.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use ReelNotes for anything unlawful, or to save or process content that is illegal, infringing or harmful;
  • attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service;
  • resell or commercially exploit the service except as we expressly permit;
  • use the service to harm others or violate their privacy or rights.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

8. Plans, billing and cancellation

ReelNotes offers a free tier and paid tiers. The following applies to paid plans (processed by Stripe) where paid plans are available:

  • Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis. By subscribing you authorise the recurring charge until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time. Cancelling means your account reverts to the free plan: your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which paid-tier limits and features no longer apply (your saved content stays). We do not give pro-rata refunds for partial periods.
  • Deleting your account is different from cancelling. Deletion is immediate and permanent: it ends any paid access straight away, and we do not refund the remainder of your billing period. To keep access until the end of a period you have paid for, cancel your plan instead of deleting your account.
  • 14-day cooling-off: as a consumer you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. By starting to use a paid feature you ask us to begin the service immediately and acknowledge you lose this right once the service has been fully performed.
  • We may offer discretionary refunds where the service has genuinely failed.
  • We may change prices or plan limits; we will give reasonable notice of changes that affect you, and changes apply from your next billing period.

9. Our intellectual property

The ReelNotes name, software, design and content (other than your own saved content) belong to ReelNotes Ltd. These terms don’t give you any rights in them beyond using the service.

10. Availability and “as is”

ReelNotes is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and, particularly during alpha and beta, features may change or break. We may modify or discontinue parts of the service.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ReelNotes Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, or losses arising from your use of generated output or from third-party platforms. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Your responsibility (indemnity)

You agree to cover us for reasonable losses we suffer because you broke these terms, saved content you had no right to save, or breached a third-party platform’s terms through your use of ReelNotes.

13. Ending these terms

You can stop using ReelNotes and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we stop offering the service. On termination, your right to use the service ends; data handling follows the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will update the “last updated” date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continuing to use ReelNotes means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
